Thought u guys would appreciate this.
John bonham is my favourite drummer so really appreciate what this guy does.
I think it must be amazing for people learning to play these days cos all you have to do is check out youtube and you can see someone play it close up - or even a lesson in how to play it! Saying that, music has a bit more mystery when you cant see how its done. I remember learning rush songs and led zep as as a kid and discovering how things were played when someone showed you and quite often is was really simple. I must admit sometimes if im feeling lazy I will lookup a song on youtube just to get a quick idea of how to play it. I really do think Youtube is one of the greatest things of our time. I also remember going to record fares and paying loads of cash for crummy bootlegs and videos and now its all there for free. These days I have stopped watching TV, except inthe morning when I catch the news. I prefer checking out music related stuff on Yotube in an evening. Its great how you can think of something to watch and then some suggestions come up and before you kmow it you have been entertained for hours. Ive been watching loads of music documentaries about Van Halen, Led Zep, Black Sabbath and early vids of Scorpions, Michael Schenker, UFO. Stuff I havent heard for 25 years at least. Its a great medium for the mid life crisis!

This is a really nice sound on that clip. Has anyone identified the pedals he's got plugged in there? I noticed the camera shows them and the small fender amp.
I have the same amp and I really like it. I was asked to join a band recently as lead guitarist, and, because my usual amp isn't working, I am using one of these, fed into a small mixer via it's headphone output. From the mixer's line out the signal goes to an active 300w pa speaker ( Behringer B300 ) and I'm getting a better live sound than with my old 100w guitar amp !
I 'm getting a similar sound using a Boss OD-1 and then CS-2 just before the amp, and a delay patched into the mixer. So I can dial in a bit more sustain.

Hi guys,
I don't know which amp he's using and which pedals...but the sound is good ! Obviously everyone noticed that what Kami plays et what we hear and see are not totally the same... maybe a playback...?

I've been curious about the "Kami" clip mentioned above too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSyKEgvEups&feature=relatedThe camera pans down to his pedals and the amp briefly halfway through the video. Looking carefully I can see that the tone is first processed by what looks like a Behringer OD100 combined overdrive and distortion stompbox and then a Behringer DR600 digital delay. Next I think in the chain comes a Boss DSD-2 Sampler/ Delay just serving as a delay. And then a Boss OD-3 (or similar maybe SD-1 ) overdrive pedal, then what looks like a Boss DD3 digital delay The "clockface" settings on the OD100 are approx: “4” “2” “hi” “10” . . . level, tone, drive, mode respectively. The drive control on the Boss overdrive is turned up full so the level control on the pedal must be set fairly low I don't know how many of these pedals were switched on during the making of this clip. Kami had a noticeable long delay on during "crystal ball" and I think his foot movement towards the Boss Delay pedal was to kill that delay ready for playing the riff of Still I'm Sad. The amp , a Fender 15G practice amp, is miked up for this vid. I think the sound was recorded into a separate machine from the vid, perhaps because the camera couldn't record sound very well ? Then the sound and vid were matched as well as possible in a computer with a home movie edting appication and saved as a new video fr upload? I think that is the reason for Kami's movements being slightly out of sync with the sound. I emailed him to ask what effects he was using, and he mentioned that he uses the Boss ones but said very litttle more. I agree with one of the posts above that it's surprising he used a telecaster to try to get Ritchie's tone. Then on reflection a stock stratocaster might not have such a bright tone on the bridge pickup with volume backed off a bit as much as a tele, unless it ws fitted with MTC or something. I think the guitar volume would definitely be backed off a bit as some of the drive settings on the boosters are quite high . I would suggest both boosters were turned on: the Behringer for a bit of "crunch" and the Boss for a bit of that too plus it's "tubiness" to improve the sound going into the solid state amp, especially when using the neck pickup. I agree with whoever it was who said that he has nailed the sound but it could do with a bit more sustain. I think that could be fixed by raising the level control slightly on the Boss overdrive. Those pedals can produce a lot of sustain and even feedback at low volumes without spoiling the actual tone. PS An afterthought : perhaps Kami had been AB testing a Behringer Booster/ delay combination and a Boss booster/delay combination at the time he recorded this vid, which would explain the slightly incongruous signal chain. The more i think about it I realise he probably had just the Boss or the Behringer pedals turned on rather than everything . . . .

Well after looking carrefully the movements, some are synchronized and others are not. I don't think Kami plays...When Trills and rake effects are not used, you can see him playing these and vice versa...even with a decay in the video/sound... Kami certainly plays well guitar but it is the same sync problem in all his videos... It makes me feel like if Kami was remembering all the licks at the last second or if someone was playing guitar just near him and trying to imitate...
Whatever the answer, it sounds nice !
