Well this is what I did with my Sunday afternoon. Thought I should put a bit of effort into making a proper recording. Sorry to push is down your throats, but as fellow Blackmore fanatics hopefully you cant blame me for wanting to share my latest creation. Its by no mean perfect but I feel I am getting better at home recording. Its mainly that Im pleased with the recored tone Im getting. Am using the BSM Fireball pedal this time, with a little bit of gain on the Engl soft lead channel. Its my new favourite caljam frankenstrat with 69' in the bridge and YJM in the neck. Changing the YJM later in the week for another 69' I picked up second hand off e-bay. Cheers folks and thanks for your patience. Jon,
very very fine playing – very good sound with excellent attack!
For the guys... Fireball is bases on HS units first issue (Germanium fitted), has designed for more gain, and more aggressive sounding compared with stock HS unit. Its fitted with very low noise Ge-tranny , industrie standard (Americans say: military standard) with very low tolerances and gold pins!!! ;D Yes.... in the 60th, some European Ge industrie types was nearly “over the top” .... Fireball was developed for Ritchies hard-style/ hard-sounding mid/late 70s Rainbow stuff. Produce a little bit more aggressivity and harshness compared with the RPA_Major. Major runs better with historicial correct low power single-coils like 69s or 57/62s Fenders. Fireball runs perfect at all style of pickups incl. P90, PAFs, Mini Humbucker, Twin-rails ....

Thanks guys.
Yeah I went for a bit more gain on this track, using the fireball on top of soft lead channel gain on the amp. Kinda of like a cross between Vai and Blackmore so there was enough sustain to deal with the long notes and bend./vibrato nuances (esp as I couldnt be bothered to grab the slide for short sections). This is more what 'my sound' is like rather than going for technically close reproduction of Ritchies tone. Its the kind of tone I like to play with when Im jamming along to tracks in the house.
There are a few little irritating mistakes in their, but hey, its not like its going anywhere. It would be nice to have a go at something, where Im are totally happy and to make it as perfect as possible, but I have a low boredom threshold and prefer to move on to something else. My improvisations are normally because I cant remember what happens next, as you can probably tell!
