Boys, probably some of you have bootlegs interesting to me after I've read Dave Thompson's book "Smoke On The Water" The history of Deep Purple. It said that there was some concerts Ritchie did not participate : 31.03.72 Flint Michigan, USA (without Ritchie) 06.04.72 Quebec, Canada (with Randy California) 25.05.72 Detroit Michigan, USA 26.05.72 Dayton Ohio, USA 28.05.72 Cleveland Ohio, USA
It would be interesting to listen to.....

Deep Purple Hub ( deeppurplehub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=logout) has a lot of downloadable bootlegs, Deep Purple and DP related, Rainbow, Blackmore's Night and more, the quality varies a lot though. You have to be a member to access the downloads. Unfortunately I can't see any of the ones you've listed. It is a fairly extensive listing, I managed to find all the Rainbow gigs I was at in the late '70s and early '80s.

Around 1971 Purple gave in concert in my native town Lüdenscheid. Ritchie left in the afternoon out of illness and flew back to England. The band played a few songs without him, then left the stage due to lack of fun playing without him. The audience waited, not realizing what was going on. After a while a riot arouse and the stage equipment got smashed, this time by the audience, not by the band. Roadies had to leave through the toilet windows. The police waited ouside, afraid to come in. A journalist who managed to get inside got beaten up as soon as people realized what he wanted. I know quite a lot people who were there but most of them can not remember much because of drug intoxikation. Wild times, I think. I havn´t been at the concert, my excuse is I was just a year old . The 70s must've been a...weird decade!?! Lots of drugs and crazy stuff goin' on. I was born in '69 and was much to young to be a part of the madness. Thank God?

This is all very interesting guys, but how to find those bootlegs? The band was at its best and I am just curious how could Randy California replace Ritchie, I mean he used to be a brave man at least.
