Can you believe that I am STILL waiting on this??? I received an email from the eBay seller dated January 7, apologizing for sending the issue on that date (nearly two weeks after I'd made payment!). He indicated that he shipped via SAL Mail, which can take two to three weeks... I responded that if he is going to take two weeks to ship after receiving payment, he might at the very least consider upgrading the shipping to something more efficient or refunding the shipping outright. Needless to say, he did not respond to my kind suggestions. Mentioned here in order that those considering such a purchase from this seller may be aware of this problem.

Got an email back from him. NOW he claims he shipped the item on January 1... What he doesn't know is that I've been to Japan, have business dealings with people in Japan and I know fully well that January 1 is the most important holiday in Japan. Most businesses are closed until January 3.
So I very much doubt he could mail anything on January 1...
Let the buyer beware!

Well that's strange and sad for you I ordered him several times some magazines and they all arrived after 10 to 12 days in general. There was never any problem at all. Hopefully it's only a postal delay now and it'll arrive soon to your hands !

Last night, I opened a dispute on the eBay resolution center. All I was getting from him was excuse after excuse after excuse after excuse after excuse and so on. FINALLY, he offered a refund or replacement after shooting down every poor excuse and then some.
The issue here is not a postal delay. The issue is that he took TWO WEEKS to ship after receiving my payment. "It was a holiday," "I couldn't work," "the post office was closed," and on and on and on.
My issue with this was that in no way shape or form, did his listing nor any subsequent emails to me indicate any scheduled shipping delays due to post offices being "closed," not being able to or wanting to work, holidays, etc.
My point is that I paid immediately and acted in good faith and that my good faith was not reciprocated. At the very least, he should have upgraded my shipping if he's going to take two weeks to ship my item.
This is a poor business practice and I care nothing about his excuses. If he couldn't get to the post office, he should have had someone go who could. That said, the customer shouldn't have to think of these things for the seller.
My suspicion though is that he does not actually have these magazines in stock and/or oversold his stock.
Lastly, I definitely do not appreciate a seller, especially one who has been entirely remiss in his duties, arguing with the customer. I have done everything I should have done and everything he would have liked: bought the magazine, paid immediately; I am a repeat customer and go out of my way to leave very positive rather than perfunctory feedback, etc.
I sell modified DOD YJM308 and other pedals on the side, and IF I even suspect a delay in completion and shipping, I will immediately inform the customer, leaving an option to cancel the order (no one has yet). I also send detailed emails regarding the modification, when I have shipped, and invite and answer all questions again, in detail.
I have upgraded shipping for a delay of one day, included free items, refunded shipping, on the very rare occasion that I've been delayed. The customer is happy and I then have a clear conscience.
I don't argue with the customer and attempt to put off the customer with tedious and impatient excuses. It's poor business. I want happy customers who will tell others about my pedals. That's just common sense.
