Hi folks Here is a one take live recording our band did recently of one of my songs. We did 5 songs in 30 mins using a cheap special offer at a local studio time and I then mixed the raw wave files in cubase at home. We are planning to use the drum tracks to do some further re-recording, but here is the totally live version anyway. www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=994171&songID=9818963

Thanks folks
Was recorded on 7 tracks - 3 for drums, 1 for each guitarist (me + rythm guitar later), bass + singer
The mike used on my amp was not a Shre 57, not sure what it was actually. I think it was a condeser mic.
Was all done very fast. I then mixed it on cubase, adding compression, eq and reverb to drums etc. My guitar has a tiny bit of compressor on the mixer channel and a tiny bit of reverb.
We are going to be recording tracks in teh studio properly in March. This was just a bit of fun.
I used a strat with a EVH Frankenstein humbucker and quaterpounder in neck, with a malmsteen neck on a US strat partscaster. I used my 1977 Marshall Super lead (6550 x 2) and Blackstar Dual. I normally use a treblebooster but didnt on this occasion cos the pup is quite hot

hey theshed, really cool I find it more malmsteen than gates of babylon, but again... blackmore is a big inspiration for malmsteen, so it's the same hahaha
