I don't know if you guys have discussed this footage before, but IMO, it's absolutely stunning stuff from what I see as RB's pinnacle period as a guitarist. The playing and the guitar sound are just amazing. Here's to hoping more surfaces at some point! www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LJ9H528FGY

Yep, I'm not going to argue with anything said above. I was lucky enough to see Rainbow 3 times during the late '70s, saw them again in 1980 with Bonnet at the front, no, seemed wrong and music had gone all commercial and AOR I think with early Rainbow RB had a new lease of life after leaving DP and setting off on his own. That's reflected in his playing, I know every time I watch Catch The Rainbow on Live In Munich it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, especially from about 13:10 onwards in this FULL version www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4Egmwz-Mnw The early Rainbow, in my opinion, was by far the best, the powerhouse of RB, Dio & Powell even if it seems like the bass and keyboard players names were written in pencil so they could be easily changed! Anybody else read the comments below the Copenhagen 1976 video, had to laugh at one referring to Ritchie smashing the guitar: "I wonder how many people in those days went to the hospital after the concert to have a souvenir removed." ;D
