Hello everybody! Does anybody know this YouTuber or is he by chance in our forum ? www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZMVoWRsaL4O-4gwAT9R7C-ZJvlGEm73AHis gear is STUNNING... He's got not just Strats from the 70s and a Major, no, he's also got the REAL DEAL: the AIWA TP-1011! I wonder how much money he spent on his equipment!? To be honest, I'm a bit jealous of this guy . Don't get me wrong, please. I just want to have the same gear!!! IMO, he often gets close or very close to the original sound. However, I know other guys who don't own such a wonderful gear and who get as close as him or even closer. This guy, for instance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr8pv_RtFIEWhat do you think of them? I love watching their videos. They rock! The first guy also makes me wonder how one can have vintage equipment and in the same time no noise or an inaudible amount of noise. I think that many vintage effects and amps can be very noisy compared to more modern stuff. Especially the AIWA in combination with the Major should result in some noise because it boosts the signal and driven sounds always come with some noise. But not with this guy ... . Even with modern euipment you always have noise when you play with driven sounds. Just the same with single coil hum... no noise! If I get it right, he uses normal single coils without dummy coils. The white Strat with the Schecter F500-Ts may have a dummy coil in the center position but the other Strats have normal pickups in the center position. Can somebody enlighten me ? Best regards, ritchiefan1982

They're clearly trying to go for authentic Ritchie but I don't really hear anything super close to Ritchie's tone myself when I listen to their clips. How about this one here - this has a fatter tone but still a fairly clear sound... youtu.be/R9o0WCtd45Q

And yes, he has flipping playing skills! But I don't like it when he goes Yngwie...well this is a matter of taste.

And yes, he has flipping playing skills! But I don't like it when he goes Yngwie...well this is a matter of taste. Yes his Blackmore style is really excellent and clearly he's studied Yngwie as well, but in terms of just his solid playing ability regardless of style, this guy has the talent for sure. Excellent player, total professional. He's got loads of video clips of different stuff and they are all pretty amazing! Really good quality and great production on the clips. He gives lessons so I guess really what he up to. Like I said, totally shits over all the "Blackmore impressionist" I've heard so far. His sound setup is really good, obviously spends on it and does a fair impression of Blackmore live sound from a variety of eras, yet he's not messing about with silly stuff like ancient AIWA and Marshall Majors, so clearly not a dummy at all. Oh and no mention of an MTC anywhere, that I've seen so far, proof perhaps again that it's not really a requirement! The thing I really like about this guys playing, is that while quite clearly he can play note-for-note Blackmore stuff if he wants too and it sounds very close to the Blackmore, he clearly takes the stylistics of that playing and then plays it with his own stuff, so sure he mixes in some Yngwie style too, but it all sounds natural and that's the business. You hear this guy play as himself, which I personally think kicks the note-for-note copiers, clean out the park! Why waste your time trying to 100% copy and reproduce something that Blackmore has already done, and done far far better than you will? Its just Utterly pointless and so plain dull n boring, shows such an immense lack of imagination I think! Plenty do it, or try to, and it rarely sounds natural or right and it absolutely never sounds even vaguely exciting or interesting. Whereas, this guy is playing his own style, but using elements from Blackmore/Yngwie and others, which I personally think is exciting to listen to, in much the same way that Blackmore is. F@ck 100% copying Blackmore do you own thing, that's what Blackmore did! Check his work here in this clip, lots of different stylist touches in here, great playing Well, the thing is that people want to have a good time when they are playing. If they try to get close to somebody's else playing (be it Blackmore, Gilmour, and so on...) because it makes them happy/content, that's fine with me.

I agree with you =) But I also understand the point Tortoise is making. If you try to copy everything, you won't be happy because there are always things you can't copy. Anyways, I like to copy RB and there's nothing wrong with it. I know my own style but currently, I prefer to study blakkers' style .

Well actually I'm too lazy (and not so good) to play his solos note for note so I always have to add my own to it. I think a more remarkable thing to do rather than having his solos down note for note is to be able to "improvise" as close to him as you can. That's my goal as a player and something that I will most likely never achieve... but I'll keep on trying.

The bloke from the original post is Master Yascon of Japan. There's a video of him somewhere with a band called Marshall Majors where he plays Speed King. Much more authentic sound there than anything he's got recorded honestly.

www.youtube.com/user/whatdefrencethatisThis is a very good 'Blackmore Style Improviser' . Apart from his RB covers he plays his own stuff but with a very big RB touch. This is also my aim, not only to copy Blackmore but also to be able to improvise like him. I think, this is more important because RB never plays a solo the same way (except for certain parts in 'Child in Time', 'Mandrake Root' and maybe some others). Best regards, ritchiefan1982

Just gotta say, mAx really has the sound of Machine Head. This improvisation that Ritchie has, is something incredible, but on the records it's just as incredible... When I play Ritchie kinda stuff, sometimes I try to nail his sound on some songs, a lot of the times I just lose it with all the crazy improvisation but really sounds nothing as good as he does... Anyway, I got one more, who's this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc42QG-VF9QGreat playing and sound! edit: and really this guy has the best vibrato wow!
